Hey...I look at everyone's forum names and wonder to myself, "What the bleeding heck does THAT mean? Where did it come from? Why, oh Lord, WHY?"

So...where did you get your name...why did you name yourself that...do you use this name all over the net or are we the only privileged ones?

Where's your name from? My original name was "Death By Hesitation". I made Pevil Lahuta's pet moa to joke around with a person named pevil lahuta on the "Human Players suck forum". Its about henchman. Then one day my Death By Hesitation account stopped working so now im forever condemned to be a feathery moa!

sidepocket13 came from me winning a pool tournament and i won enough $ to get my first comp. my ign of mud blood shows how much of a freaking geek i am and i like harry potter, my ign of maddie the mad is name after my puppy, maddie! she is psycho! i use sidepocket13 everywhere!

Actually.....Aniewiel came from the NWN character creation/name generator.

Full name is Aniewiel Silvermane Tae but that's neither here nor there.

She was my first true RPG character and I played her for a long while (still do, actually) and she's very near and dear to my heart.

Madjik is the name I came up with when I was hard pressed to find a screen name for AOL when I was about 8. I had trouble thinking of one and then suddenly I came up with this one. I use it all over the net, although, the screen name seems to have caught on a little, so apperantly I'm not the only one using it anymore, although I was for at least a few years.

Ah, the story behind PieXags. Well, it's a really interesting one I can tell you that.

Well you see for the past, well near 3 years I suppose...I went under the name "P.T. Flea" for all my FPS games, it's still the name I use in my DoD clan and most other FPS games that I play. One day though I got tired of it and was desperately searching for a new name, and it had to be original, not just something anyone else had.

It had to be so original, I could just type it in for a screen name in AOL Instant Messenger, and it'd be available (and we all know how hard that is)...so for many days I went searching and searching for new names, trying to think of all manner of word combinations and such just to be original. Then I realized that so long as I stuck to using only REAL words, I didn't have a chance because near everything's been thought of.

So I opened up a new registration form for AOL Instant Messenger, if the name was unique there, it'd be unique everywhere. So while filling out the form and thinking of a new screen name to submit...

Well, you know at the bottom of registration forms, it has that little box where the random letters/numbers appear? Then they ask you to "Please input the letters and numbers you see in the box to complete registration".

Well, in my little box, this distorted message appeared...

I looked at it and realized that I'd discovered a random assortment of brilliance that nobody else had ever found, quickly I created gmail, Yahoo, AIM, and MSN names all using plain PieXags, and that's where I stand now. With a random assortment of letters and numbers, for a name.

Amazing how some things turn out 'eh?

PS: I actually have the image that the message appeared in, I took a screenshot of it if anyone would like to see proof of this story.

Azman was my nickname in FFXI, because my character names always started with "az," then for this I just deicided to put teh in front so you would all think I'm a l337 hAxX0r ^_^

Well, years ago, my first multiplayer FPS was the original Delta Force. Eventually I thought of the name "Snyper" for myself, and it stuck. The first gaming clan I was in (part of the NetBattletech game league) was called the "The Blazing Aces," I spent a couple years with them, and made some great friends too. Once I started playing Planetside, the name Snyper (of course) was already taken, so I used Snyp3r and AceSnyp3r respectively for my character's names. Just kind of stuck with those ever since

PieXags: That has to be the best story for choosing a name I've ever heard.

This is one of my many Nicknames, and as I'm in a clan, it's also my clanname!

EDIT: I know this is a watch specialist but:

A) I hate FEMALES WATCHES, and
B) I don't care if I copyrighted it this year or something. If people want to pay for watches I am not endorsed by them at ALL!

Even though my screen name is pretty plain it kinda has some meanings.

Haloknight: Obviously linked to a paladin.

9: Even though its just a number added to the end, represents one of my favorite games of all time!

Final Fantasy 7. Sephiroth had a tatoo of a 9 on him.

Mine originates from the way in which i'd shamble around the maps in Half Life Death Match with a mate from uni, Im pretty good HLDM even if i do say so meself, but I didn't half do some stupid things sometimes and had a habit of falling off stuff or blowing my self up with the RPG

This was usually followed by mate mate saying "silly monkee!" because we had an obsession with the 'little red monkee' at the time. The name stuck and even seeped into real life as the nick name shambles! :-( I use it everwhere now.

Mine is the name of a main character from the series of books The view from the Mirror by Ian Irvine
He's an exceptionally powerful mage, and a member of a dieing race (last time they bothered to count, there were 100 of them). I thought it was a good name for mage characters I started on RP games, and it stuck (mainly because I'm hopeless at coming up with names)

Then on GW, they need a surname, and Rulke doesn't have one, so I started scouring other books I like to find new names.

I've used Winterclaw 4 times now: here, at renderosity.com, as my main PC (a hume monk) in FFXI, and as a dragon PC in the HORZ greekthingy.

Originally it was going to be the name of my dragon in an upcoming MMO, but I've since dropped the idea of trying to play one, in that game anyways. There is another forum name I go by, but when I use it I prefer being called KD.

I started using this handle or nickname or what-have-you about...6...8 years ago or so? A long time ago, anyhow. I was sick of not being able to use my current fraternity-given nickname, Tigger, because, gee, that's just a little too common, now, isn't it? So I was trying to come up with a fairly unique name and decided that Eugaet was pretty unique...it's my last name spelled backwards. Yes, I am the last bastion of creativity. And I was right...that name was not in use for every site and service I signed up for. Life was good. Until the last 4 years or so. My popularity has obviously been such that I've garnered a following of imposters. Freakin' imposters.

I'm also know by the name Gemma on other sites, which started on a friend's blog, where the rule was that you had to choose a villian's name for your handle. So there's Destro, Megatron, Chojin, Leonardo Leonardo...and Gemma. I chose the name of Lord Himuro Gemma from the anime Ninja Scroll.
